LeadsDesign win four-way pitch
2009-06-30
Craven College invited us to pitch in April 2009.
Three creative routes were presented showcasing how the current brand styling could be developed to improve navigation, incorporate duel format print solutions, reduce the environmental impact and move on the current photographic styling.
Craven College currently have a strong brand styling and we look forward to working with the marketing team to maximise the effectiveness of the Full-Time Directory and communicate the benefits of studying at Craven to the target audiences.

Everyone needs a little complimentary 'Therapy'
2009-04-28
Which is exactly why we are offering complimentary ‘Therapy’ sessions.
Therapy is all about offering advice, providing solutions and lending an ear, and a new perspective during these testing economic times.
Developed to give valuable marketing insights to marketers across a wide range of sectors, Therapy is a free service that aims to re-establish the art of face-to-face communication and freethinking in a relaxed environment.
Therapy sessions last half a day and are run by two LeadsDesign specialists and up to six client contacts. Bring whoever you think will add some value to the process (and not just marketers). Different viewpoints can often give the best insights.
Every session is bespoke to you and your company – so you know you’ll be getting unique and valuable insights you can own and apply. To book a session or find out more contact Carla Murphy on 0113 2444415 or email her at cm@leadsdesign.com, because sometimes we could all benefit from a little complimentary Therapy.

We would also like to send out special thanks to Vicky at Horsforth Chidren's Centre at Broadgate Primary and Liz at Wedgwood School and Community Nursery for letting us loose with all manor of cameras and lighting. The images are fantastic and the staff and children enjoyed the experience immensely.

Seeing spots?
Herman-grid illusion (Hermann 1870). Circles appear in the negative spaces between white boxes in your periphery vision.

Incontrol magazine
NHS Rotherham briefed LeadsDesign in February 2009 to produce a piece of communication that gives new life to old content already in use, enabling it to cross-over into new age brackets, feel more relevant and be a more approachable topic.
LeadsDesign produced a woman’s glossy fashion/lifestyle magazine, providing a platform to discuss serious health issues and topics, but also offer light entertainment, fashion and beauty ideas, and reader offers.
The result is a standalone piece of communication that has a longer shelf life than the regular health associated collateral and in addition aims to promote good health and well-being to the local community.
Conceived as a free publication, LeadsDesign worked hard to secure third party partners, and additional added value offers through building relationships with local retailers and high street brands. We also produced all content, design, publishing, advertising to truly maximising the budget. Dont take our word for it .
‘From strategic planning through to concept development and completion LeadsDesign have worked hard to ensure the magazine exceeded our expectations and delivered on all of our aims.’

Going round in circles?
A simple concept with very effective results. Close concentric circles give the feeling of motion. Stare at the circles for a short time, then look at a blank wall. Feel a little dizzy?

Leaf Programme
We have the pleasure of delivering the third programme to promote the exhibitions and events showcased at Leeds College of Art & Design. The creative solution follows a tight design template developed by LeadsDesign but allows for creative expression on the front cover. Special thanks to James Gilmore, the first graduate to gain experience on our intern program, for putting together another beautiful piece of printed promotion. If you are interested in finding out more about the programme contact Lee Goater.
Passport to intoxication?
2008-02-18
The primary aim of direct mail is to cut through the clutter of daily distractions and begin a dialogue with its intended target. Some programs succeed and some programs fail, but few generate the same sort of response that LeadsDesign has just achieved with the "Passport To Export" campaign for Yorkshire Forward.
The campaign premise was simple, to get business owners in the Yorkshire region to consider the possibilities of the export market. The creative solution that LeadsDesign developed was a direct mail campaign mailer that looked like a passport, complete with import export stamps. There was even a sealed coating on the next to last page that was personalised, just like in a real passport.
The production values were superb even down to the gold foil blocking on the front cover. So much so, we weren't surprised but we were amused to learn what happened last week. It was reported 'by another agency' that that a group of underage boys had come across a copy of our mailer (how who knows) they thought it looked so realistic, they attempted to use it to get served in their local pub.
Unfortunately for them, their plan failed miserably, however our campaign didn't. What's the moral - if you find one of these passports it will help exploit foreign markets and grow your business, but please remember, it won't buy you a pint down the local if you're underage! Give it up.
A parent at 7!
2008-02-18
LeadsDesign celebrated its parent company's seventh birthday on Valentine's Day. Admittedly, seven is really young to be a parent but all the same, a very responsible Lowd+Klea that launched in the Calls area of Leeds on the 14th February 2002 is doing well.
There was a lot of press speculation around the launch date and a fanfare of press coverage about being 'one to watch' as a breed of new school agency along with Love in Manchester and Dig For Fire in Sheffield. They weren't wrong. Lowd+Klea did need watching, because it bred fast while nobody was watching and the offspring are growing fast! There's no lack of quality for the sake of quantity in this house. LeadsDesign and its sister agency L&K Creative have again both been nominated on the RAR (Recommended Agency Register) this year, which is the second year in a row. Lowd+Klea was listed on the Top 100 Agency Register for 2005/2006/2007.
I thought we were in trouble - serious trouble!
2008-02-18
When I got the email last week to say we'd been nominated for a heist award, I thought we'd done something very bad. I thought we'd offended another agency by appearing to plagiarise work they'd done. You know that heart in mouth sensation; the worst possible scenario we could imagine. It's like being nominated for the wooden spoon, stupid, plain old...nasty playground stuff. It was my PA who pointed out that it was the HEIST Awards, for excellence in education.
So, we are all good. LeadsDesign's prospectus for the Northern School of Contemporary Dance has been nominated for a Heist Award for outstanding achievement in the marketing of universities and colleges.
This year's event takes place at The Royal Courts of Justice in London on Thursday May 7th 2009 with Jeremy Vine (all remember horse of the year show? ) presenting the Awards. Which will then be followed by live music and dancing. So, if there is any Justice in the Royal Courts, we'd better win then the NSCD will show them how to bust some serious moves!
2009-07-02
Lowd+Klea is smart thinking and collaborative working. The group currently consists of LeadsDesign, a marketing and communications agency and L&K Creative a strategic brand consultancy and we are recruiting for middleweight and senior positions across both agencies.
